Working closely with a local distributor, Carmanah has supplied an additional order of obstruction marking lights to two large Sri Lankan telecommunication companies. These lights will be used on cellular telecommunication towers throughout the country to increase the safety and visibility of the towers.
As cellular telephone services improve, Sri Lanka’s cellular communications system continues to grow. Currently, approximately one-quarter of the Sri Lankan population owns or has access to a mobile phone. As this number continues to rise, so too does the need for additional cellular towers to be constructed throughout the country, equipped with the latest technologies, including Carmanah’s solar-powered obstruction marking lights.
Featuring two miles of visibility, Carmanah’s self-contained A601 obstruction marking light is easy and cost-effective to install. The lights operate immediately upon installation, switching on at dusk and off at dawn and require no scheduled maintenance for up to 5 years. They are also field-proven to be some of the most durable and reliable self-contained solar lights in the world.
